I’m happy to share some photographs from Amanda’s senior portrait session. Amanda is a senior at Mayfield and wanted a unique background to compliment the more traditional portraits for her family and yearbook, so she found a great local mural and we took it from there.
I just realized how many senior portraits I took of kids from the class of ’13, how many great kids and families I’ve got to meet, and how I’ve quickly run out of time to write about them.
I’ve gotten to know quite a few kids, and Mo has been one of my all-time favorites–favorite family, favorites to photograph and favorites to pick on (she picks back). If she looks familiar, it’s because she’s been featured a few times on my blog or in my portfolio (you can see her looking mean here). I’ve pretty much documented her high school athletic career and then some.
Mo was a three-sport athlete, (basketball, volleyball and softball) and I was lucky to be in the front row or on the baseline for the majority of it. I thought it was telling, when at the signing of her National Letter of Intent, all three varsity coaches took the time to talk about her work ethic and dedication. They coordinated with each other over the years to accommodate her, even in spite of injuries. I think that speaks volumes about the coaches, but even more about Mo.
She’s now off to Pima Community College in Tucson, AZ (with Cruces teammate Lexi Dotson), to play some softball, with plans of transferring up to a bigger program. I’ve got a feeling she’ll make it!
