The 2011 3-5A District Championship paired up the old rivals, Las Cruces and Mayfield, in another great game. A number three seed in this year’s district tournament, the Bulldawgs surprised #2 Oñate and took another shot at taking the regular season champs, Mayfield. Although Cruces fell behind early, they clawed back but ultimately fell 50-45.
District play kicked off last week, and Las Cruces paid a visit to Oñate on Friday, January 21st. Oñate won its first game against Las Cruces in eight years–some monkey to get off your back.
