For smaller schools like Western and Wayland, it was a good opportunity to test their skills against the bigger D1 schools like NMSU and UNM. For UNM and NMSU, it was a chance to get their younger players on the floor to evaluate and take them for a “test drive”.
Former Aggie standouts, Alice Bordin and Stevi Adams-Maytubby, suited up for the tournament–Alice for NMSU and Stevi for Wayland. Both of them played great. It was also good to see former Cruces OH Jenae Coppedge back out on the floor, who saw a fair amount of action playing in the back row.
